Ever Have a Bon Jovi Poster
on Your Wall?
by Sandy Miller
One of the most successful soft rock bands to come out of America is Bon Jovi. From their first album in 1984, they have been a very marketable group of men. Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi has delighted his fans with his good looks and strong stage presence. The blond haired and blue-eyed front man, along with lead guitarist Richie Sambora and the other band members have enjoyed a string of hit singles and albums. The 1986 Slippery When Wet and the 1992 Keep the Faith are probably the most well known ones. Part of the promotional strategy has been the Bon Jovi Poster, tee shirts and other memorabilia.
Image is so important for music stars and Jon Bon Jovi has also made an impact as an actor. He has made movies including U-571, Cry Wolf and Pay It Forward, and also had a regular role in the eccentric, TV show Ally McBeal. The Bon Jovi poster selection is dominated by Jon, with lots of pictures of him on his own or standing forward of the group. There are group formations too, especially from the early years. Jon's trademark sunglasses are often in evidence and the long, fair hair is always perfectly groomed. He is tremendously photogenic.

Legendary Photos of Bon Jovi
There is a striking image used that shows an early photograph of a four member version of the band in Sepia. Another Bon Jovi poster shows Jon in the foreground, standing in some scrubland under a clear blue sky with a huge satellite dish in the background.
A moody black and white picture of Jon on his own reads, Queen of New Orleans new single from debut album Destination Anywhere. There is also a color close up of Jon, slightly in profile and his fringe trailing over his forehead. He does not have his sunglasses on, for a change, so you can see his eyes. The Crush Tour 2000 is commemorated in a poster showing a montage of different photographs of Jon, other band members and close up shots of automobiles.
Framed memorabilia pictures with celebrity photographs next to their signed, gold records are very popular these days. Both the Slippery When Wet and recent Have a Nice Day albums have limited edition pictures with gold plated records in an attractive frame. The band and Jon in particular will continue to excite interest and go on making great records. A Bon Jovi poster from the 1980s is especially sought after, as it captures the spirit of the decade.
